22 April 2007 is indeed a day to remember for mother church, Wesley KL, as Puchong Preaching Point becomes a local conference taking on the name Life Mehodist Church Puchong.

Affectionately known as PPP, Puchong Preaching Point started first as a part of the Klang Road Parish and then separated itself to form a Puchong Parish. Soon after, it was inaugurated as Puchong Preaching Point at a shoplot in Bandar Kinrara, Puchong on Sunday, January 2, 2005. Thereafter, we began to have services in PPP every Sunday at 9 a.m. Many programmes and activities were planned to reach out to the neighbourhood in Puchong: Sunday School and Youth activities were started; we had Easter and Christmas programmes to reach out to the people around here; Alpha was conducted; we had Prayer Walks, etc. The Baptism and Membership class saw five new members added to the church. We could see God moving.

In 2006, the leaders felt that we were ready to be a local conference as the Lord had brought in more people in addition to the core group from the main church, and the Sunday worshippers were increasing week after week. Indicating our confidence to Wesley KL, the resolution for the formation of a local conference was put forward at the Annual Conference. Receiving their blessing, preparations were then put into gear for the constitution of the new church.

On that auspicious Sunday of the 22nd of April 2007, at 4 p.m. about 150 members and well-wishers witnessed the momentous constitution of a local conference. TRAC President, Rev Ong Hwai Teik spoke on the relevance of the name LIFE in the prevalence of a “culture of death” and what Christ gives us that we can bring to others. District Superintendant Rev Andrew Tan presided over the meeting of the First Local Conference.
